SHED TOURS

Here's one for the railway buff in all of us. The railway is holding the popular station yard and shed tours again in 2012. The dates are as follows. - April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd and 4th (Monday), July 7th, August 4th, September 1st, October 6th. On Saturday October 27th and Sunday October 28th we offer two tours at 11am and 2pm.

Join one of our knowledgeable volunteers who will guilde you around the historic locomotive, carriage revovation and storage sheds at Aviemore Station. You will see locomotives and carriages of varying vintages being maintained and overhauled. These tours are a unique chance to go behind the scenes and see the Strathspey Railway getting its hands dirty preserving Scotland's railway heritage and working hard at the same time to keep our trains running safely and smoothly. The tours are free and remember to bring your camera.

Meet at the booking office on platform3 of Aviemore Station at 2.0opm. Tours last around one and a half hours. The tours are free when you purchase a return ticket.
