The Strathspey Steam Railway is located within the Cairngorms National Park provides fine views of the Cairngorms mountains, the River Spey and diverse Highland wildlife habitats. Our picture and video galeries reflect our unique location as well a allowing you to see behind the scenes as the railway getsits hands dirty preserving Scotland railway heritage and working hard at the same time to keep our trains running smoothly and safely.

GALLERY THREE - RAILS TO GRANTOWN LAUNCH

On the 26th of March 2010 over sixty guests and supporters came along to the SRC's Broomhill Station today to help launch the "Rails to Grantown Appeal". Communities Minister and local MSP Fergus Ewing and Danny Alexander MP were amongst those attending.

GALLERY FOUR - RESTORATION OF CALEY NO. 828

June the 14th 2010 was a big day on the Strathspey Railway. After £220,000 and many years of work, Caledonian Railway No. 828 came out of the shop and back into traffic.


GALLERY FIVE - RESTORATION OF NO 46512

After last year’s impressive return of Caledonian Locomotive No828, Friday 11th March will see the return of the LMS designed steam locomotive number 46512 after a restoration, overhaul and re-paint thanks to the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund. After a complete re-build under the control of Shed Foreman Colin Vaughan, she is been expertly finished and lined out by Murray Duncan whose attention to detail will result in another superb sight when she emerges for regular services on the Strathspey line.
