The association gives you the opportunity to support the railway whether actively or not. The restoration of services on the line in 1978 and an extension to Broomhill in 2002 were due to the hard work of volunteer members and today they provide the bulk of the working staff. In the shops, booking offices, as crew on the train, keeping the truck in good order or maintaining the locomotive's, coaches and buildings, members of vital to the continued success, operation and development of the railway. A privilege of membership is being able to travel at just a quarter of the normal fare, subject to minimum fares. Members also regularly receive the railways journal 'The Strathspey Express'.
