THE WEC WATKINSON TRUST
HOW CAN YOU HELP

The Trust has already a substantial portion of the £354,000 needed to restore 5025 to working order, but still has to raise a further £25,300. We are appealing for further support to enable us to complete the overhaul within a four year period. All donors who are taxpayers can have tax reclaimed by the Trust under the Gift Aid Scheme.

The Trust would particularly like to encourage supporters to give a regular sum towards the restoration project by Standing Order.  Your support will enable the Trust to apply for major grants from heritage organisations so that the overhaul of 5025 can be completed. Volunteer time spent on the overhaul of the locomotive can also be counted as contributions towards some grants.Donations should be sent to:

William AD MacPhail CA, Treasurer, WEC Watkinson Trust, Ardneil, 80 Bruceland Road, Elgin, Moray, IV30 1SP.

There is also the opportunity to help the project by sponsoring the restoration of a specific part of the locomotive. You can download a donation form here 5025 Donation form

Donors of £10 and more will receive a commemorative certificate.Donors of £250 and more can travel on a free journey in the Officer’s Saloon on a  train to be hauled by 5025 after restoration.Donors of £2,500 and more who are over 18 will  be offered a free Footplate Experience Course on the Strathspey Railway.
