THE STRATHSPEY STEAM RAILWAY
AVIEMORE - BOAT OF GARTEN - BROOMHILL

A fantastic experience for everyone

Whether you remember the days of steam from yesteryear, or you simply want a relaxing day in the Highlands, come and enjoy a train journey with a difference in spectacular Strathspey.

From its base at Aviemore through Boat of Garten and on to Broomhill, the railway takes you on a nostalgic 20 mile round trip along part of the original Highland Railway. As the train passes over Moorland, through woodlands and by great sweeps of the River Spey, the Cairngorm Mountains provide a backcloth to the scenery -- the ingredients of a great day out.

Enjoy Afternoon Tea on the train. *Each day on the 2.45 p.m. service from Aviemore to Broomhill you can enjoy Afternoon Tea. Sit back and as the gorgeous Strathspey scenery glides by enjoy our service of sandwiches, cakes, fruit scones with cream and jam rounded off with a pot of tea or coffee. Tickets are - First class £19.95, Country class £17.95. Child fares are £10.95 first class and £9.95 country class. * Not Sundays.

Teas, coffees, snacks and a full bar service is available in the buffet car on most trains.

FIND US - Aviemore station can be accessed by foot from Aviemore's Main Street. The Strathspey railway platform is accessed across the footbridge to platform 3. By car, from the B9152, turn into the B970 to Coylumbridge, then take the first left. (Dalfaber Road). The station car park entrance is approximately 1/4 of a mile along Dalfaber Road on the left. Access to the station is by level crossing and ramp. Or just put PH22 1PY into your Sat Nav.

Boat of Garten Station
is a signposted from the A95. There is a drop-off point at the station building beside "The Boat Hotel". This has level access to the platform. Car parking is in the station yard and is signposted. Access from the car park to the platform is by way of the footbridge. Or just put PH24 3BH into your Sat Nav.

Broomhill Station is just off the A95 3 1/2 miles south of Grantown-on- Spey, on the minor road linking to the B970 in Nethybridge. Car parking in available in the station approach road and near the level access to the platform. Or just put PH26 3LX into your Sat Nav.
